How to Make More Money as an Affiliate Even When Prices are Rising

Make More Money As An Affiliate As Prices Rise

Prices have been rising everywhere. Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock, this isn’t news to you. Gas prices are up. Food prices are up. Housing prices are up. You name it. If you want to buy it, you’re going to pay more than you did not that long ago.

There’s nothing we can do about that. Do you want to know what you can do something about? What you’re promoting, and how you’re promoting it. You have control over that, and it turns out that’s all you need.

Have you noticed that people are buying less through your links? Or are you worried that it’s going to happen? Here are some things you can do to make sure you earn more money as an affiliate, even when prices are going up.

Be More Price Conscious

Make sure you pay attention to the prices of the things you’re promoting. Don’t only promote things that are very expensive. This is a good rule no matter when you’re promoting something, but it’s even more important when people are worried about rising prices. Don’t make it sound like spending a large amount of money is no big deal, because to a lot of people it is a big deal.

If you’re going to suggest that someone spend a good amount of money on something, make it clear that you realize that it’s a lot of money. Give them good reasons that they need to purchase it, and why now is the time to do so.

This is also a good time to promote something when you know the price will soon be rising. Share that your audience can get in on a better price before a certain date, and they’ll save money. That will make your audience happy, and convince some people that they’re better off getting the product before the price rises.

Share a Lower Priced Option as Well as a Higher Priced Option

If you’re promoting a product that has a high price, consider also promoting a similar, lower priced option with it. The lower priced product might not be as high quality for example, but might have the same features. Or the lower priced product might be just as good, but has fewer options with it.

For example, let’s say you’re promoting a new pair of sneakers that are expensive because of the benefits for a certain sport. Also promote a lower priced pair of sneakers. Maybe they don’t have the exact same benefits, but they’re also good for that sport. You’ll be helping your audience, and you’ll see that people will take advantage of both options.

People like having choices. Some people will be happy to get less features and pay less, while others will prefer to pay more to get the higher quality or more features. Giving people a choice will help you make more sales as well as give your audience what they need.

Offer Bonuses

People always want to feel like they’re getting a deal. This is especially true when prices are going up! So why not give your audience something for free when they buy something through you?

The great news is that you can choose exactly what you want to offer your audience. You can offer them some training on something similar to what they’re purchasing. You can offer them personal help, whether it’s through email, phone, or video. You can offer almost anything you’d like, as long as it has at least something to do with what they’re purchasing.

People Still Have to Buy the Things they Need

Remember that even though prices are going up, there are some things that people need to buy. So don’t feel bad about promoting them. Your audience will buy these things anyways, so why shouldn’t they purchase them through your links?

Don’t stop promoting the things you usually would, thinking people won’t buy them. People still need certain things no matter what. If your niche is soccer, realize that people aren’t going to stop playing just because the price of things went up. They’re still going to play, even if they’re going to spend money a little differently. They’ll still need the same equipment that they needed before.

People Still Want to Buy Some “Wants”

Yes, higher prices mean that people have less money to spend on the things that they want instead of the things they need. But people still want to buy some of the things that they want to buy. Don’t feel bad about promoting things that your audience doesn’t necessarily need, but may want to have.

Especially when people are stressed, people like to do things for themselves, and one of those things is to buy things that they want. You’ll still see sales of items that are “wants” as well.

Not Everyone Needs to Watch Their Wallet

Prices may be rising on almost everything, but that doesn’t mean it’s causing everyone to stress out. While many people may be watching their wallets, not everyone will be. Some people will still be spending like they were before. Not everyone has to watch what they spend, and can buy what they want to.

Make sure you’re still promoting things you would have promoted before. Not everyone is buying the bare minimum. Some people are buying like they were before prices started to rise, and if you don’t offer them the products or services they’re looking for, they’ll look somewhere else for them.

Know this Won’t Last Forever

There are times that you may notice that you’re making less affiliate sales because of rising prices. But don’t think that you’re done. You can still do a lot of things to get people to buy through your links. Don’t stop promoting. People will still be buying things, you may just have to change what it is that you’re promoting by a little bit. Also, remember that this won’t last forever. Things in life are always changing, and this will too. Even if your income takes a dip now, it will eventually go back up.

The key is to not give up. Keep moving forward and trying different ways to promote. If you try some of the methods above, you should see your income start to rise again. Eventually you’ll figure out what works best for you, and can do that until the economy changes again.
