How would you earn money this way? Surprisingly, there are a few different ways you can earn money with YouTube. You can promote affiliate products. That’s when you promote a product that someone else sells. It can be a physical product or a digital product. This way you don’t need to create your own products. If you get a big enough audience, you can put ads on your videos, and earn money that way.
Here are some reasons that being an affiliate marketer and posting videos on YouTube is a great and easy way to make money online:
It’s Quick
How long does it take you to make a video? That’s where the bulk of your time will be spent. First, you’ll come up with a product that you want to promote. I strongly suggest promoting a product that you’ve recently purchased and liked. Then, think about a few things you’d like to say about the product. Why did you buy it? What do you like best about it? What do you wish was better?
Then, get out your smartphone and record! It doesn’t have to be that long. It only needs to be as long as it takes you to say the things you want to say about the product. Basically, you want to tell people the good and the bad. If you were thinking about buying the product, what would you want to know about first? That’s what you should share.
That’s it! Now all you have to do is upload the video, get an affiliate link to the product you want to promote, and put it in the description of your video. Anyone who watches your video and wants to check out the product can click on that link. If they buy the product (or anything else on that website while they are visiting), you’ll earn a commission on it!
The whole video could be created and uploaded in less than 10 minutes. It doesn’t have to take you much time at all, and you can start earning commissions right away.
It Doesn’t Require Many Skills
You may worry that you don’t have any skills that will help you earn money online. But that’s not true! When you’re an affiliate marketer, all you need to know is about the products you’re promoting.
If you buy products, you have products to promote. Talk about the things that you buy, and what you think of them. That doesn’t require many skills at all. You only need to buy things, and be able to let others know what you think about them.
Once you’ve hit the record button and the stop button on your phone, most of the “technical stuff” is over with. It’s very easy to upload a video to YouTube. You click a few buttons answering some questions – like what the title of the video is, and what language it’s in – and it’s uploaded.
The only other “technical” skill is to be able to add your affiliate link. Once you’re an affiliate for a company, they make it very easy for you to promote their products, and get your affiliate links. One company I like to use is FlexOffers. They have over 12,000 retailers you can promote. Here are a few big companies you can promote through them: Kohl’s, JC Penney, DSW, Macy’s, and Hulu. There’s also Ulta, Sephora, TJ Maxx, Bed Bath and Beyond, LOFT, Vera Bradley, and Saks Fifth Avenue. As you can see, you don’t have to worry about promoting products from companies no one has ever heard of.
That is just one company. There are many other affiliate networks out there that will allow you to promote many other products from other companies. Find a product you want to promote, and then see if that company has an affiliate program you can join. You’ll be surprised at all of the companies that do!
It’s Fun
I don’t know about you, but I enjoy sharing what I think of products. When I buy something that I really like, I enjoy telling people about it. I want to share it with my friends and family. It’s also fun to share it with people you don’t know. That’s how others can learn about what you think of things.
It’s fun to sit in front of a smartphone for a few minutes sharing your opinion. It’s neat to know that there are others out there that want to hear what you have to say about a product. The fact that they’re going to take your opinions into account when they decide whether to buy something or not is awesome (to me at least.)
I don’t consider it work at all to create a short video. You may consider it work to write an article, or create a product. But to record a short video doesn’t feel like work at all.
It’s Easy
I can’t think of many ways to make money online that are easier. You click the record button on your smartphone, and then hit stop. I’m pretty sure everyone who has a smartphone knows how to create a video.
Then the only other thing you have to do is get an affiliate link and then post your video. Again, these are things that don’t take much time or energy. It’s easy to do, and you don’t need to know much about computers or technology or anything else to do it.
There are many ways to make money online. Creating videos talking about affiliate products has to be one of the quickest and easiest ways. Where else can you make money talking about a product that you like for a few minutes?
