There are so many reasons that I love having my own business. I love being the boss – and deciding what I want to do each day. I decide what I do, and when I do it.
I love being able to help people make money online. I find it a lot of fun to look for great products and deals to promote to people. I also find it a lot of fun lately to create my own products.
I love that if I want to spend my time on one thing today and not another, it’s OK…I know I’ll get to the other stuff. I love being able to decide what’s important to the business, and get to work on it.
Most of all though?
I love the freedom it gives me!
Yesterday is a great example. If I had a regular job, I wouldn’t have been able to do this (on a weekday at least, so it would have been a lot more crowded.) I went to Philadelphia, and went to The Flower Show. It’s the biggest in the country. I go every year, and it was just beautiful. There are so many amazing displays…and then you can buy some flowers too!
So while most people I know were working, I was wandering around the convention center looking at beautiful flowers being reminded how awesome my “job” was. While there were a lot of people there, it was no where near as crowded as it is on weekends, so it was a lot easier to take my time and see the flower displays as I walked around.
Each year they have a theme. This year was “Flower Power”, so there was a lot of 60’s themed things in the displays, and when they played music it was music from the 1960’s, so that was a lot of fun. They also did something that they haven’t done before (at least anytime recently) and that is to show off some of the displays from the World Cup (who knew there was a World Cup for flowers!) from all over the world. So we saw different displays from different countries, so that was very interesting.
One of the best parts is whenever you’d breathe in, you’d get to smell some of the wonderful scents of all of the flowers. Even though it was about 20 degrees outside, inside it almost seemed like spring!
I couldn’t help thinking that as I walked around, if I had a “real” job, I wouldn’t be able to do this…or I would have lost a very precious vacation day in order to be able to do it.
Instead, I was able to just go…and then continue my work the next day.
Don’t get me wrong, there are times when I work at night or on weekends, but that’s because I choose to. It’s great to be able to say “ok, I’ve had enough for today…I’m going to go outside and enjoy a nice walk!” or whatever else I want to do.
So while yes, it’s great to have your own business to be able to be in charge of how much money you make each year, and because you can decide what you get to work on each day…it’s also incredible because of the freedom it gives you!
You can do what you want, when you want to…and that’s just amazing.
