Turn Your Thoughts into Actions and Accomplish More

Take action on your thoughts

Do you have big plans for your business? Do you have dreams that you want to turn into reality? This is often easier said than done, especially when you don’t know how to take action in the first place. Below are some ways to help you more effectively turn your thoughts into actions, no matter how hard you may think they will be to accomplish.

Start By Making A Plan

If you only have ideas in your head, you might not have thought everything through. It’s probably muddled and may not be exactly what you want or need to do to succeed. This is why the first thing you should do is to write everything down. Have a written down plan of what you want to do.

Having an overview of the plan isn’t enough. While first you want to write down what you want to accomplish, then you want to break it down into smaller goals and tasks. This will make it easier for you to know exactly what you want, and you’ll be able to take action and accomplish those tasks.

It’ll also make it easier for you to flesh it out and come up with specific steps that you’ll need to do before you can go to the next step. Don’t think that just because you write a plan that it has to happen exactly that way either, as once you start to take action you can come back to adjust your plan as needed.

Having a plan will give you goals. You’ll see what you need to accomplish before you can move onto something else. It will give you concrete things to do and move you from thinking about something to actually doing it.

Stop Overthinking Everything

One of the reasons you may find yourself unable to take actions on your thoughts is because you’re overthinking everything. You may think that what you need to do is very time consuming and may be too difficult, but you might be mistaken. Once you make a plan, it should help clear up some of your overthinking. You’ll see exactly what it is that you need to do first, second, and so on.

You’ll be able to easily see what needs to do done, and if you can do it. If you’re not taking action because you don’t have the knowledge or skills to do it, you’ll see that when you look at the individual tasks. If that’s the reason you’re not doing something, then you can hire someone through something like Fiverr to work on that specific task for you. In the mean time, you can work on other tasks so you aren’t waiting around.

If you are still overthinking everything, there are things you can do to help. First, try some relaxation techniques like meditation or taking deep breaths. If that doesn’t help, talk it out with someone else. Sometimes just talking about it out loud will make things “click” into place, even if the other person doesn’t say a word. When you’re talking about it, you think through what it is that you want to do and you may gain more insights about it. Remember that you aren’t perfect, and that isn’t what you are trying to achieve. There is no reason to fret over your plan being perfect. You can always make changes if you need to.

Figure Out What Is Stopping You From Taking Action

If you’ve done the above steps but still can’t seem to turn your thoughts into action, it’s time to figure out why. Are you scared of failure? Too distracted? Waiting for the perfect time? Any of these can hold you back as you work to make your thoughts become a reality. If you leave them unchecked, you will never be able to take meaningful action. If it is the simple fact that you’re overwhelmed, spend some time breaking down your goals into smaller tasks. When the tasks are simplified, you should be less overwhelmed. Once you discover why you can’t seem to take action in your business, work through why and eliminate it so that it is no longer a reason.

Schedule Time for It

Often, something doesn’t get done simply because there is no specific time set to do it. Yes it may be a dream for your business. Yes it may be something that you’re sure will help you earn more money, but unless you assign a specific time to do these tasks, you won’t do them. If you set aside a specific day and time, you’ll have no choice but to work on that task. Just make sure that the task you have scheduled is something that is simple enough that you won’t get overwhelmed. Make sure the tasks is broken down enough that if you set aside the time to do it, you’ll be able to do it. Then, the next time you can schedule time for the next task, and so on. Before you know it, by scheduling time for these smaller tasks, you’ll have accomplished everything you wanted to.

Turning your thoughts into action is often easier said than done. This can especially be the case if you aren’t sure where to start and are overthinking everything. The trick is, you need to figure out what is stopping you from turning your thoughts into action. Then you have to cut out the overthinking, and not worry about failure. Start following a plan that you have written down—and before you know it, your thoughts will become actions!
