Confidence in Your Actions

There are times when you don’t think you can do something within your business. It may be because you’ve never done it before. Or it could be because you’ve done something similar before, and failed. But you don’t have to be worried or scared to do something. If you need to do something but are afraid to act, sometimes you can spend time trying to figure out your best next step. Other times, you need to stop stalling and make a decision – the right decision for you. How do you do it?

The problem isn’t necessarily so much about what needs to be decided. Instead, it can be because you don’t have the confidence to act. But where can you can unwavering self-belief fast? Try these 6 methods that can help you instantly:

Give Yourself a Pep Talk

Deep down, you know you can do it. You would have never started your own online business if you didn’t think you could do it. You’re having a temporary lack of confidence. So what do you do?

Talk to yourself. You’ve been here before. You’ve had doubts, and still made decisions, and things turned out fine. Remind yourself of some things that have happened in the past, and how well they turned out for you. Remember all the good things that you’ve done in the past. If you’ve done it before, you can do it again.

It may sound silly, but just saying all of this to yourself can really help. You’ll start to feel better, and have more confidence in yourself and your actions.

Choose Your Companions

Who do you spend time with? Are they people that make you feel better about yourself, or worse? If the people you spend time with are more likely to criticize you than to cheer you on, walk away. You want to spend time with people who will make you feel better about yourself.

Make sure you have a support system in place. When you’re feeling low on confidence, talk to these people. They’ll support you and make you feel better about yourself and what you need to do. They believe in you and will tell you how awesome you are. They’ll remind you of things you’ve done in the past and how you can do anything. They’ll remember things that you’ve forgotten yourself!

Sometimes hearing things like this from someone else mean more than when we say it to ourselves. So talk to someone who can help build you up and make you feel better and give you more confidence.

Visualize Yourself Succeeding

I know it sounds a bit out there, but hear me out. Picture yourself succeeding. Visualize yourself in that situation. If you’re trying to make a decision, see the outcome that you want. Picture your success. By doing that, you’ll feel better about the potential outcome. This can help you get yourself to that successful situation.

If you don’t think you can do it on your own, try a guided meditation. There are some out there that help you visualize your future. By listening to the meditation and following what they say, you’ll feel more confident. You’ll see that you can do it, and will be more likely to do it in the future.

Get it All Out

There are going to be times when you have so many thoughts going through your mind that you need to get them out. When you get the thoughts and emotions out of your mind, you’ll be able to do what you need to do. Get a piece of paper or open a notepad on your computer. Write down everything that’s going through your mind. Write down what you’re feeling, what your worries are, and what your fears are.

Try to figure out why you’re feeling this way. Be honest with yourself, and don’t hold anything back. It can help you feel better so that you can move on.

It also gets those thoughts out of your head so that there is now room for more positive thoughts. This might be something you want to do on a regular basis so that you can get these thoughts out of your mind. It can take a little bit of time, but it’s worthwhile.

Break Things Down

When you have a big decision to make, try to break it down. Sometimes you can make multiple smaller decisions instead of having to make one large decision. Or maybe you can just decide the first step of something. Then after you do that, you can see what happens before making another decision.

Sometimes it’s the act of having to make a big decision that can take away your confidence. If you only have to make small decisions, it can be easier to convince yourself to make the decision. So try to give yourself smaller decisions to make.

This can work with projects too. If you have a big project or task to do, instead of worrying about it at the top level, break it down. Try to make it into as many smaller steps as you can. Then you only need to worry about doing one step at a time, and making decisions about one thing as a time.

Once you finish that step successfully, you can look into the next step. Then you can make that decision as well, and so on. The benefit of doing this is that as you go on and make more successful decisions, you’ll build your confidence and will feel better about making the next decision. By the time you’re halfway through with the project or task, you’ll be feeling a lot better about what you’re doing as your confidence level will be higher. You’ll have already made multiple successful decisions and the next ones will therefore be easier for you. Plus, if you do happen to make a mistake, it would be on something small and can more easily be corrected.

Take Action!

It’s time to do something. It’s easy to procrastinate. Especially when you don’t feel confident in what you need to do. Make a decision, and take action on it. It doesn’t matter what it is, you need to get moving. Go towards your goals. Don’t stall out and do nothing. You can always make changes if you need to. But trust your instincts and dive right in. Do something, and take action right away.

Enjoy,
