In order to work well, you need to take time off and relax.
One thing I find very relaxing is to go for walks. I especially love going somewhere new and walking.
So this afternoon, my husband and I took a drive down to Colonial Park, in Somerset County, NJ.
We had never been there before, but the map looked like there would be a lot of walking trails, so even though it was a little warm, we decided to go.
And I am really so glad that we did.
Not only did we get to walk for 3 1/2 miles in the beautiful weather, but we saw a deer that ran in front of us! It was crossing the road, and then kept going towards the bushes and trees to have a snack. He/She must be used to people, as while the deer kept an eye on us as we walked by (and stopped to take a picture!), it didn’t stop eating, or run away. While I ‘m used to seeing deer run past my car while I’m driving, I was not used to seeing one while out walking!
That was really cool. A little later on, there were a bunch of butterflies flying around a bush, and they stayed in place long enough for me to get some close ups as well.
I love being out in nature…love walking…and love wildlife, so this was an amazing day.
I don’t know about you, but doing things like that also clears my mind. It gives me some great ideas!
If you are working too much…whether you have your own business or are working for someone else, I suggest you get outside. Take a walk. Relax. Enjoy nature. You’ll see how refreshed you are when you come back inside!
In fact, I was so refreshed, that so far tonight I’ve already written a few posts. Not because I had to, but because I was really in the mood and inspired to do so!
