What a crazy week. We had a crazy storm with high wind gusts on Tuesday, and ended up losing power and Internet. Luckily, it came back yesterday late in the afternoon.
What it made me realize, was how happy and lucky I was to work for myself. I ended up doing a lot of running around helping my family, but if I had a full time job, I would have still had to find a way to get to work (a lot of roads had either downed power lines or trees blocking them) or I would have had to use vacation days. But because I work for myself, I could decide to just take the day off to take care of everything I needed to, and not worry.
If you wish you could be in a situation where you can decide when you work, where you work, and how you work, but really don’t know the easiest (and cheapest) way to get started, this is what I suggest:
- Step 1: Get a hosting account (You can spend under $4 a month for this!) They will even give you a domain for free.
- Step 2: Set up a blog (It’s easy even if you’re not technical. There is a button that you can click that will do it all for you.)
- Step 3: Post to it regularly, promoting affiliate products.
That’s it! Of course it takes time, and you need to get traffic, etc… but this is the way to get started. It doesn’t cost much, and you can share products that you like with other people, and get paid for it.
If you have any questions, please let me know, and I’ll point you in the right direction. Being able to work for yourself is an awesome thing, and I’d love to help more people get to that point.
If you need cheap, reliable hosting, and even a free domain name, check out Bluehost.
Enjoy,
